What the visuals are, and what they are not

Fluctara produces visual material alongside sound. Some of it explains the mathematics, some of it is a simulation, and some of it is designed to be looked at. These are different things, and the site labels which is which.

Three categories, kept apart

Illustrative
A drawing of a relationship — phase geometry, for instance. It is accurate as a diagram and is not a recording of anything.
Simulated
A computed study of symmetry and nodal structure. Cymatics figures here are computational, not footage of a physical experiment, and they are marked as such where they appear.
Stimulus
Visual material intended to be viewed during a session. This is the only category with a safety dimension, and it is the one held to the strictest declaration.

A stimulus must declare itself

Any visual stimulus that varies over time carries a declared rate, a declared duration, a stated intent, and a static alternative that delivers the session without the variation. The static alternative is not a degraded fallback; it is a supported way to take the session.

Rate matters for reasons that have nothing to do with aesthetics. Material that flashes within certain frequency ranges can provoke seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy, including people who have never had a seizure before. That is why a rate is never left implicit.

Three studies

Each of these is labelled with the category it belongs to. The label is not decoration; it is the difference between a diagram, a computation, and something designed to be looked at during a session.
